January 2020 - Red Notice

The next book club meeting will be January 14, 2020.     Enjoy the holidays!

January's book is Red Notice by Bill Browder.  We don't have a book club set for this one, so everyone has to find their own copy.

You can borrow one from the Toronto Public Library or buy a copy at Chapters-Indigo or on Amazon.

November 2019 - A Man Called Ove

No sooner have we finished with October's book then here we are madly rushing to get into our November book. This is one I've been waiting to read for years. Multiple people have recommended it. I'm so happy that we have got the book club set at last.

Our book is A Man Called Ove,  written by Fredrik Backman.    

Book Club meeting will be on November 12, 2019.    

The next meeting after that will be in January.

October 2019 - The Best Kind of People

Cooler weather and shorter days means lots more time to cozy up with a good book.    At October's book club meeting, we'll be discussing "The Best Kind of People" by Zoe Whittall.

September 2019 - When Breath Becomes Air

When Breath Becomes Air by Paul Kalanithi is our first book for our 2019-2020 season. 

We will be discussing this book on September 24th at 8pm at Lan's. 

Also fyi,  the BVA is having their annual shredding day on Saturday Sept 21  from 9am to noon. See the BVA newsletter for the location.

 This year we are holding a book swap at the same time.  This is a great opportunity to unload some books you are done with and pick up some new ones!

June 2019 - Do Not Say We Have Nothing

Our June book is "Do Not Say We Have Nothing" by Madeleine Thien.   We are meeting June 25 at 8pm at June's.

after this we will be off for the summer and will meet again in September.

May 2019 - The Tea Girl of Hummingbird Lane

This month's book is the Tea Girl of Hummingbird Lane by Lisa See.     We will be meeting on Tuesday, May 28 at 8pm.

Why Was Rachel Murdered? - April 2019

This month we have something special for our April 30, 2019 meeting - an Author visit!!!

The book is Why Was Rachel Murdered?  by Bill Prentice

The meeting will be at 8pm on April 30 - location will be in the email and in the newsletter.

There are no copies at the library yet and no copies in any local stores.   You can order a copy on-line from Chapters-Indigo or from Amazon .    Contact me as I'm putting in a group order.

March 2019 - Our 10th Anniversary!

This month we will be discussing Big Little Lies by Lianne Moriarty

The book club set has been reserved. I will send an email when I have copies to hand out.

Also, this meeting will be the 10th Anniversary of our first book discussion!  Can you believe it?

There is no book club set for this book.    You can reserve one at the Toronto Public Library
