January 2024 - The Maid

 



No book club meeting in December 2023.   Our next meeting will be January 23.  We'll be discussing The Maid by Nita Prose.  We don't have a book club set. Everyone will need to find their own copy.

The Bloomsbury Girls - August 2023

 



Next meeting is August 1, 2023 at 2pm.   Weather permitting, we'll be meeting in the back yard.

This month we have a fun summer read - Bloomsbury Girls by Natalie Jenner.   There's no book club set but there are enough available copies in the Toronto Public Library.

What Strange Paradise - June 2023

 



Our June book is What Strange Paradise by Omar El Akkad.     This book won the 2021 Giller Prize and was a finalist in CBC's Canada Reads 2022.   Here's the trailer for that.

We have the bookclub set from the Toronto Public Library.

We will be having a backyard meeting on June 20, 2023 at 2pm.  
After this meeting we will break for the summer and be back in September with Shuggie Bain. The book club set has been reserved.

Empire of Pain - May 2023

 



We've got a good hefty non-fiction book to read this month.     Empire of Pain - The Secret History of the Sackler Dynasty by Patrick Radden Keefe.    

We have the book club set.    There are 15 copies.

The meeting will be on May 23 - outside, weather permitting.
