Our March read is The Sleeping Car Porter by Suzette Mayr.  Everyone has to find their own copy.   There are lots available at the Toronto Public Library.

Yay! We made it through January!    Our February book selection is Tom Lake by Ann Patchett.   We'll be meeting on February 17 at 2pm.

September 2025 - The Lion Women of Tehran

 

Our September book will be The Lion Women of Tehran by Marjan Kamali.   We'll be meeting on September 30 so lots of time to get this book.   The line up is long at the library but you may get lucky on the Fast Reads.   I have a couple of books to loan out.

July 2025 - The Bandit Queens

 

Our selection for our July bookclub meeting is The Bandit Queens by Parini Shroff.

We will have the book club set but you can also reserve it at the Toronto Public Library.

We'll be meeting on July 22.

June 2025 - Banyan Moon

 We do have the bookclub set for this month's read - Banyan Moon by Thao Thai.

This book is also available through the Toronto Public Library.

We'll be meeting on June 24 at 2pm.

May 2025 - The Lincoln Highway

 

We're revisiting author Amor Towles this month with his novel The Lincoln Highway.    We read A Gentleman in Moscow a number of years ago.    This one promises to be just as engrossing.

We don't have a book club set but there are lots of copies available through the Toronto Public Library.  You'll have no problem getting a copy and renewing it if needed.

Our discussion will be on May 27 at 2pm.

April 2025 - The Secret Life of Sunflowers

 

Our April discussion will be about The Secret Life of Sunflowers by Marta Molnar.  It's the true story of Vincent Van Gogh's sister-in-law, Johanna Bonger, who was instrumental in bring Vincent Van Gogh's art to the world.   

We'll be meeting on April 29, 2025 at 2pm.

March 2025 - Lady in Waiting

 

Our March 2025 book will be Lady in Waiting: My Extraordinary Life in the Shadow of the Crown by Anne Glenconner.

Anne Glenconner was Lady in Waiting to Princess Margaret. A fascinating read.

February 2025 - Lady Tan's Circle of Women

January 2025 - Lady Clementine

 

Our January 2025 book is Lady Clementine by Marie Benedict.    Lady Clementine is Clementine Churchill, wife of Winston Churchill and a formidable power in her own right.   

November 2024 - Parable of the Sower

 

Our November bookclub meeting will be November 19, 2024. We'll be discussing Parable of the Sower by Octavia E. Butler.

This novel was written in 1993 but is set in 2024.    Dystopian future. The future is now.
